AI 摘要

1. Introduction

The "the Belt and Road" initiative and China's leading role in global governance were discussed, and the importance of regional national studies as an emerging interdisciplinary was emphasized. Pointing out that foreign language proficiency, especially multilingual ability, is a fundamental skill in regional studies. Current research focuses on the positioning, problem examination, standards, and goal setting of foreign language talent cultivation, but lacks exploration from a holistic perspective. This article aims to construct a demand model for foreign language talents, analyze the practical problems of cultivating foreign language talents in China's regional countries through empirical research, and propose optimization paths to promote the construction of talent training system.

2. A Foreign Language Talent Training Model for Regional and Country Studies

Under the national strategy of the new era, the cultivation of foreign language talents is divided into three categories: think tank research-oriented, market practice oriented, and global governance oriented. International comparisons show that six universities, including the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London in the UK and the School of Oriental Languages and Culture in Paris, France, have six characteristics in terms of regional and national foreign language talent cultivation: clear positioning, research areas that combine points and surfaces, comprehensive coverage of research fields, diverse teacher teams with distinctive features, clear requirements for multilingual abilities, and outstanding regional and national literacy. Based on this, a regional foreign language talent capability demand model was constructed, including interdisciplinary ability, academic research ability, multilingual ability, and cross-cultural ability. Think tank research-oriented talents need to strengthen their interdisciplinary and academic research capabilities; Market practice oriented talents need to possess interdisciplinary, multilingual, and cross-cultural abilities; Global governance talents focus on multilingual and cross-cultural abilities, while also requiring interdisciplinary skills and professional competence.

3. Survey on the Current Status of Foreign Language Talent Cultivation in Regional Countries

A semi-structured interview method was used to investigate and analyze the current situation of regional foreign language talent cultivation in two Double First Class universities. The study designed an interview outline, collected learning feedback from respondents, and verified and supplemented interview data. The interviewees include six students from comprehensive universities and foreign language universities, representing regional and national foreign language talents at different stages of learning.

4. Optimization Path for Cultivating Foreign Language Talents in Regional Countries

Four optimization paths have been proposed for the cultivation of regional and national foreign language talents: firstly, developing an overall training plan, clarifying stage training objectives, strengthening top-level design, systematically discussing course objectives and content, and ensuring effective connection between students' knowledge acquisition and ability cultivation. Secondly, scientifically plan foreign languages, develop testing and evaluation systems, reasonably plan the foreign languages required for regional and country studies, design diversified foreign language courses, and establish a multilingual proficiency indicator system. Thirdly, it is necessary to plan the curriculum reasonably, strengthen the connection between curriculum and practice, handle the balanced and complementary relationship between language courses and interdisciplinary courses, and pay attention to the combination of theoretical knowledge and research practice. Finally, we need to strengthen the development of the curriculum system, allocate resources reasonably, develop localized textbooks for regional studies with Chinese characteristics, cultivate and select language teachers engaged in regional studies, establish a scientific and reasonable funding and guarantee mechanism, establish a scholarship system, increase the number of students sent abroad, and improve the quality of international exchanges and joint training.

5. Conclusion

In the current international situation, strengthening the cultivation of foreign language talents in regional countries is crucial for serving national strategies. This article constructs a foreign language talent capability demand model, analyzes existing talent cultivation problems, and proposes optimization paths aimed at improving the quality of talent cultivation and providing theoretical and practical support for the development of regional and national disciplines.
